As IU embarks on its third century of educating young leaders, the IU Student Foundation has the opportunity to strengthen and grow in exciting ways. We seek your support on the following strategic initiatives:
Help the IU Student Foundation look to the future
Expand a leadership development program (open to all undergraduates on the IU Bloomington campus) that will rival the best student leadership development programs in the country.
Establish an Alumni Scholarship Fund to increase the amount of financial assistance the IU Student Foundation awards IU students.
Grow the IU Student Foundation so that its opportunities for learning and engagement will endure for generations to come.
Improve facilities for the Little 500 to enhance the experience for riders and spectators and to foster the long-term engagement of volunteers and donors.
Why These Initiatives?
Simply put, to benefit Indiana University. Research has demonstrated something we already knew: Engaged students become engaged alumni. For example, 33 percent of IU’s 650,000 living alumni donate to the university, but a whopping 68 percent of IUSF’s 14,300 living alumni give.1 IUSF alumni also volunteer to serve their alma mater at a higher rate than the general alumni population.
More scholarship and leadership opportunities will also benefit the IUSF experience—making it possible for us to engage more students and be more intentional about leadership development. The result will be more IU graduates who are confident, experienced problem-solvers.
