Scholarships and Grants

IUSF Scholarships

Each year, the IU Student Foundation awards more than $80,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of donors and the IU community.

You can apply for the majority of IU Student Foundation scholarships through IU's general online scholarship application at One.iu.edu. Simply search for the "Scholarships (All IU Campuses)" task to get started. Completing the general application takes about 15 minutes and allows you to be automatically considered for many of the scholarships we offer.

Some scholarships may require that you answer further application questions or provide additional materials to be considered. We recommend that you periodically return to your online application to see if you are being considered for scholarships or have been asked to provide supplementary information.

IUSF Metz Grants

Metz Grants are available to IU student organizations that are registered through the Student Life and Learning Office. Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial support for a philanthropic cause.

Funding for a Metz Grant is provided by the Arthur R. Metz Philanthropic Opportunity Fund and is administered through the IU Student Foundation. The grant awards $20,000 each year—$10,000 in the fall and $10,000 in the spring. Finalists will be required to make a presentation to the selection committee. Previous Metz Grant recipients are not eligible for funding again until four semesters (not including the semester the grant was awarded) have passed.

Request a Metz Grant application by emailing IUSF@indiana.edu.

Little 500 Emergency Fund

In furtherance of its mission, the IU Student Foundation supports students who face the fear of not being able to continue their education at Indiana University due to financial hardship. The Little 500 Emergency Fund is administered by the IUSF Selection Committee and aid is awarded at the sole discretion of the committee.
